A minimum of 5-6 days is recommended to fully appreciate both destinations. Spend 3 days in Hampi exploring its vast archaeological complex, and 2-3 days in Badami to cover the cave temples, surrounding attractions like Aihole and Pattadakal. This allows for unhurried exploration and photography opportunities.

October to February is ideal, with pleasant temperatures ranging from 12°C to 30°C. Avoid summer months (March to June) as temperatures can soar above 40°C. Monsoon season (July to September) offers a unique green landscape but can hinder exploration. The post-monsoon period (October-November) is particularly magical, with lush greenery complementing the ancient ruins. December and January are perfect for photography enthusiasts as the clear skies and golden light create stunning photo opportunities.

In Hampi: Sunrise at Matanga Hill, coracle ride on Tungabhadra River, exploring Vittala Temple complex, and boulder climbing. In Badami: Cave temple tours, heritage walks, rock climbing, and visiting nearby Aihole and Pattadakal temples.
